Message from Atifa Deshamukhya:

Starting out with a stellar academic career and brought up in the lap of luxury, I nevertheless found myself unanchored in the outside world! Tough decisions needed to be made, the balancing act between the family I loved and the man of my dreams who hailed from another community, was like a deadweight bearing me down.

With motherhood came the million-dollar question of professional advancement versus full-time care of my only son.

My dreams of excellence at work had to wait. And like all mothers, I was torn. But bounce back I did. Today, 19 years after dedicating my life to my son, I look back on a life well-lived, and achievements not too mean. I had just changed tracks and chosen parallel paths, to get to destination success in spite of obstacles. I learnt to make better decisions, work harder, be stronger.

Now my life’s purpose is to help others overcome their problems, to guide people caught at crossroads, to mentor others for best outcomes. Looking back, I appreciate the role of several mentors in my life- I now seek to return the favour by mentoring those in need. Life is fleeting, and we must live it well. Let me be your coach and join me in the mantra: Inner happiness must not be lost in the maze of confused choices.
